Ward Camp Out: Bring It ON

WOW! We took Kynzee on her first camp out. It was just an over nighter but that was all I could handle right now any way. It was our ward's annual camp out and it was only about 3 miles away from home which made everything highly convenient. MaKynzee really enjoyed the open spaces and we had a hard time keeping tabs on her and Lukas was hard too but he had his shoes with lights so the little red flashes we saw every where were him. The highlight was smores of course. It is my favorite part of the whole thing, gooey chocolate mess who can resist? Our Bishop is quite the mountain man and Spencer and him have started a weekly hike together which I find to be rather good therapy for the Spencer. So this little outing was exactly what our family needed before school started but there is one thing I have to kind of vent about. Okay so when you go camping there are tents and mountains and fresh air and animals and just the good ol outdoors. But now in 2008 there are....















DVD PLAYERS????? I about died when I brought the kids out of the tent and while waiting for breakfast they had the kids watching Robin Hood. Dang camping has changed!!

BIG KIDS BUNK BEDS

My kids are growing up so fast and a big part of that is getting rid of their little beds to "Big Boy" and "Big Girl" beds. Spencer's parents saved a bunk bed set in hopes that a kid would want the set some day and well ding ding we are the winners! I believe we had first and last dibbs on it but I loved growing up on bunk beds with my sister and Spencer has been talking about these beds since we first got married. Anyway Lukas was THRILLED to find that he was the top bunk dweller and just couldn't get him calmed down to go to bed and MaKynzee was jelous until she realized the bottom bunk was hers and she too was in a "BIG" bed. My Beautiful Babies

Man I am just so grateful for my little babies that aren't really babies anymore. I sure can't believe how big they are but I want to share with you! MaKynzee is starting to repeat everything we say and Lukas has started to tattle on Kynzee. It is SO much fun.

Birthday BASH!! Lukas turns 3

Well my little man just turned three. So we had a party to celebrate with Brookelyn Berry and Kira "My Cheeks" (my sister Christina's two kids). We keep trying to do things together to stay close and save friends gas and stuff and I can't tell you what a BLAST!

This is the GANG that came for the party, we had such a good turn out (da we were feeding people! LOL) Arik got a grill for his house warming/ early-birthday gift. So he BBQ for us and we had salads. It was so much fun.

Then there were cakes. I saw in a magazine making cakes out of cup cakes and then people just pull them apart and eat! Well Brookelyn wanted a castle or princess so this is what happened. I wanted it to look much better but hey a castle right? And then of course...TURTLE

Needless to say I am a vey PROUD woman, showing off my skills. I feel I never have the time to really let my creative side be expressed.

Happy Birthday Brookelyn Berry!

CRUIZIN BABE

So it has been pretty long since I blogged but a lot has happened. First and most exciting is that we went on a CRUISE! It was so amazing. We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel (Tulum, Myan ruins). It was so amazing. First we spent two days at sea and did what Bowens know best...GAMES. We so much enjoyed going with my family and having time to just be with each other. Jamaica was very different from what we thought it would be, it was by far the greenest and hills but very poor. It made us grateful for what we have. We had the opportunity to snorkel and loved every minute, it was our high light of Jamaica. The water was perfect! There are Spencer and I enjoying the ocean. Oh, Jamaica! Next we landed in Grand Cayman and oh the delight! We had a blast riding on these scooters across the island. It was really hot but wait till we got to hell! There is an actual placed called "Hell" and it was HOT! I think the highlight of the whole trip was our stop to the Turtle Farm. If you didn't know Spencer is in love with turtles which has been passed or forced on Lukas. Anyway it was amazing, we got to hold the turtles and take pictures with them it was amazing! I was trying to catch one when

Spencer said to

just grab and hang on tight. I did and the turtle just about pulled me in, my bag fell in and I felt so stupid, needless to say the turtle WON! I really enjoyed riding around on the scooters and had such a BLAST in the Grand Cayman, maybe that is why it is GRAND!
Next stop Cozumel but we had to ferry over to the main land Mexico to get to the ruins of Tulum. The "boys" had lots of troubles on the way over, green was illuminating our little table. But they got better and we had to do quite a bit of traveling that day but it was worth every mile. The ruins were amazing and I was so happy we had decided to go. We went to a city of Tulum. Our tour guide told us that on this one spot the people believed that God had visited them and that the temple was now the "Temple of the Descending God" and He would come again in that very spot. I got the electrifying feeling and goose bumps. The temple was amazing, we were not allowed in any or to climb into the ruins but you could feel the power and secrets it wants to share, it was brilliant. i loved every second. There were so many things that were symbolic, I just can't go on forever. It was great! We truly enjoyed this vacation and Spencer has not let me forget for a second that he wants to go on another one! I was so happy to be with my family, I missed them so much! We had such an awesome time and I am so grateful that we could go with several people making sacrifices to make this wonderful! THANKS, you know who you are!

Justin's gone to Alabama

For those of you who don't know, Justin is Spencer's brother and he left yesterday for the field that is white and he is so ready to harvest. On May 7, we took him to the MTC. I must say dropping him off in the MTC was one of the harshest experiences. There are huge signs that point FAMILY EXIT, MISSIONARY EXIT. Everyone sits in a chapel like room, get pumped with the spirit and then when you are so totally full... you have to say good-bye. The tears are already rollin from pondering the good words you've heard but you never do forget that you are there to part with some one who has a very significant place in your life and then... BAM. You're out one door and there out the other. So I think Justin...I mean Elder Bagshaw can check our blog so HELLO Elder, We LOVE AND MISS YOU!

Memorial Day, Pondering the Past

So this last Monday was Memorial Day and I couldn't help but think of two great men that are no longer in this life. The first my Grandpa Sellers. I sure miss him. I was thinking about Flaming Gorge and how he took us around on his boat and was always happy fishing. I remember every breakfast was toast dipped in his hot chocolate, oh and SPAM. He would always call me his best eater. He served in the arm forces and I am very proud to have such a remarkable man in my life. I was also thinking about Grandpa Burgess who passed just last year. He always had so much fun with Lukas, they had a ball. There is this great big ball that they had fun playing with for hours. He would sit on the ground and let Lukas crawl all over him. He also served in the armed forces. The first time I met him he whispered in my ear that I was going to marry Spencer and he (Spencer) was lucky. I will never forget his hard work and kindness towards everyone.

I was looking through pictures and found some cute ones so I am posting them. Some are new and some are old but they mean so much to me. I am so grateful for my family and I can't help but think about the wonderful people in my life that are helping me and my family to be the best we can. I thank you!

The picture with Spencer proposing was taken in Denver at my best friend's wedding just this spring. Talk about memory lane, everything was so different.
